NeoKin: Listening (the Path) to Interspecies Kinship
Can we listen to those whose voices are fading into silence amid the ecological crisis and human aggression? NeoKin reimagines a fragmented ecosystem — once thriving, now disrupted. Within this damaged landscape, Physarum polycephalum navigates a terrain of e-waste and fossils, embodying resilience where nature and culture are now inextricably intertwined.
Inspired by Ukraine’s war-altered environments, global social unrest, and environmental crisis, NeoKin amplifies nonhuman voices, mirroring both the destruction and regeneration of landscapes affected by conflict. This immersive film, based on time-lapse footage of Physarum’s growth, transforms into a shifting map of Ukraine, mirroring how living systems navigate volatile environments. The projection acts as a bridge between the micro and macro scales—between the small, fragile existence of Physarum and the vast, war-altered terrains of Ukraine.
Through these interconnected elements, NeoKin challenges anthropocentric perspectives and redefines home as a shared, evolving space where technology, biology, and land intersect in an ongoing negotiation of survival, adaptation, and resilience. Hopefully, we can learn how to regenerate and live within balanced ecosystems.

MetaLife: Return to Oneness | Film with Physarum
What if we could hear the voices of the nonhuman others and live in harmony with the ecosphere around us? Can we still restore the damage done to Nature?
“MetaLife” is a speculative audiovisual metaphor exploring the potential trajectories of our collective evolution, fostering empathy towards a balanced multispecies co-existence. It delves into intricate connections between organisms, technology, humanity, and the ever-changing landscape of our planet. Inspired by research in and with the slime mould, it offers a glimpse into nonhuman pace of time, where resilient Physarum explores the unknown terrain of a post-human landscape. Listen to the sonified slime exploring the terrain of discarded tech fossils followed by narratives of the ecosystems, redefined by humans...

MetaNature: Space In-Between
Observe an evolving symbiosis of living organisms and electronics. Listen to the multilayered narratives of those unheard: the slime, the plants, the discarded. Engage in the interspecies communication between living and non-living through touch.
Growing slime on microchips. Exploring interspecies communication and bioacoustics through capacitive sensing. These films showcases a dynamic symbiosis between living organisms and electronics, inviting observers to explore the unheard narratives of the slime mould and plants with discarded electronics.
Interactive, living and growing installation explores the alternative future of NatureCultures through the critical post-humanism lens. From touching the growing micro-greens in dismantled e-waste to a screaming sound of a living being, this project encourages a deeper understanding of connections 'in-between' .

Mattering Haiku: Origins & Ambiguities
What is life? What is non-life? Where lies the line between being alive and non-living? As it turns out, living matter is a grey area... This piece engages practically and conceptually with the forces that drive the flow of energy, and the origins of intelligence. It’s a multi-layered exploration of life's origins, blending poetry, audiovisual storytelling, and microbiology experimentation, made in collaboration with Juliet Williams during the Mattering Life Scientist in Residence.
Each haiku serves as a poignant snapshot, distilling complex scientific concepts into poetic verses that evoke wonder and contemplation. Film is an audiovisual journey about the origins of life, a fluid abstract narrative, weaving together imagery of the microscopic life forms, non-life and beyond. It transports viewers through the eons, inviting them to ponder the interconnectedness of all beings.

How It's Unmade: MetaReality
Are we fortunate enough to trust in ourselves, rather than surrender to the whims of algorithms and artificial intelligence? As humanity hurtles towards an uncertain future, the artwork beckons us to reconsider our relationship with technology and reconnect with the natural world that surrounds us.
This piece unfolds as a dynamic, time-based experience, mirroring the perpetual flux of our digital environment. Generative graphics cascade across the canvas, symbolising the volatility of luck and the unpredictability of our digital interactions. Within this immersive visual tapestry, viewers confront a barrage of symbols, and visual messages, echoing the incessant bombardment of information that characterises contemporary life.
In a world where less is often overshadowed by the allure of more, the artwork serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of reclaiming control over our lives and embracing simplicity amidst the chaos of technological progress.
